Lyrics from “Last” on first Agust D mixtape: My bank account has ten zeros, the money that used my youth as collateral And it doesn’t matter that we make a little mess, because the mess will clear on their own over time.” So the above few lines mean, “we take things, step by step, and make them our own. Like it fell off on its own, all of you go fuck yourself huh. That we had some grain of rice stuck on our face, we pay no mind The literal translation is “Eat each thing, one by one” which is a figure of speech to mean, “take each thing and make it our own.” This is why there are some food related lines following this. There’s no backing up, again I go forward, The reason you’re fucked up is your own fault, no no? To think that my success somehow has any relation to your failure,
#Agust d give it to me lyrics full
That you’ve failed and you can’t escape from this place full of shit

Why is it my fault that your life is mediocre? I’m sorry but I’m not fucking interested, that your life is mediocre. Whatever you think, I’m sorry but I don’t fucking give a damn. Lyrics from those other songs are in this color. The song seems to touch on multiple other songs from past. Just to keep the rambling down a bit, some of the lines were done as adaptation (using similar meaning phrases in English) rather than to directly translate with long explanation.

I find it a really different experience in translating, but I’m not sure if it’s just interesting to me because I’m doing the translations. This type of almost direct conversation type of a song with a fairly consistent point of view is not terribly common.

The changes in subject is much more flexible in Korean, as the language doesn’t require subject to be clear (making it difficult for translators). This song is written in first person point of view, talking directly to “you” who seem to be trolls/haters/industry people who use them/journalists who write troll articles, etc.Ī lot of BTS songs tend to be more contemplative musings, sometimes with changes in point of view in the middle of the song.
